Lyle A. Eymer



Wellsville, NY - Lyle A. Eymer, age 83, of Whitney place passed away on Tuesday, October 23, at  Highland Park. He was born on March 6, 1929 in Belmont to Lewis and Maggie Rossman Eymer. On March 6, 1952 in Wellsville he married Doris Rahr who predeceased him on February 22, 1982.

Lyle was a wonderful husband, father, friend and fiancé. He loved to travel the United States in his motor home and in later years going to Sampson State Park on Seneca Lake, where he had been stationed upon his return from Korea. Lyle had a large group of devoted camping friends and enjoyed watching war movies and cowboy movies. He served his country in both the Air Force and the Merchant Marines. Lyle was employed by Air Preheater in Wellsville from where he retired in 1992 after 35 years of service.

Survivors include: His fiancé, Marlene Rose of Wellsville; 2 daughters, Cynthia (Bill) Engelder of Allegany and Lonnie (Mark) Van Tyne of Canton, OH.; 4 grandchildren, Valarie Engelder Vought, Erin Eymer Engelder, Lauren Elizabeth Van Tyne and Bradley S. Van Tyne; a great granddaughter, Olivia Katherine Vought; brothers and sisters in law; several nieces and nephews; Marlene's daughters, Janet (Bill Sweet) Kemp and Jeanine Weinhauer; special friend, Kirby Cline and his beloved cat Lucy.

Lyle was predeceased by: his wife Doris; 3 brothers, Lewis Eymer Jr., Gilbert Eymer and David Eymer; 2 sisters, Judy Knopp and Mary Rahr.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, October 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville. Lyle's funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Morris presiding and burial with full military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
