Roy L. Armstrong


Olean, NY — Roy L. Armstrong, a longtime resident of Wellsville, passed away on Sunday (May 27, 2012), at the Hart Comfort House. He was born on June 18, 1948, in Wellsville, to Clarence and Helen Armstrong. On July 8, 1967, he married Diane Wells, who survives.

Roy had worked for the former Rochester Button Factory in Wellsville as a machinist and in 1984, he received his GED. Roy enjoyed his time at the comfort house as he felt welcomed and he received wonderful treatment.

Surviving besides his wife of Wellsville, are a daughter, Ginger (Christopher) Lyman of Richburg; a son, Jeremy Armstrong of Wellsville; five grandchildren, Ridge C. Potter, Davin P. Lyman, Shine Armstrong, Mackenzie R. Lyman and Gabe Armstrong; a great-grandson, Xavier Potter; several brothers, sisters and nieces and nephews.

Roy was predeceased by a grandson, Alex Armstrong.

A memorial service is being planned at a time and date to be announced. Memorials in Roy’s name may be made to the Hart Comfort House at 141 E. State St. in Wellsville.
