Richard W. Ohlson

Wellsville, NY - Richard W. Ohlson, 63, of 3168 Riverside Drive died Thursday, December 15, 2011 shortly after arrival at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born June 30, 1948 in New York City the son of the late John and Evelyn (Bidwell) Ohlson. On June 28, 1969 in Rochester he married Jeanne Bahamonde who survives.
Richard was raised in Monroe and was a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School. He received his BS and JD degrees from the University of Buffalo. He began his career in Law as a clerk for the Bankruptcy Court in Rochester. He later served as an attorney in Buffalo for Phillips & Lytle and Saperston and Day. He founded his own law firm in Buffalo and continued his law practice after moving to Wellsville in 1998. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. He was a devoted father, a skilled carpenter, a brilliant writer and debater and a loyal Buffalo Bills Fan. He will be remembered as a humanitarian who had tremendous sensitivity for the dignity and respect of all people.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Danielle Ohlson of Canandaigua, a brother, John (Carolyn) Ohlson of Buffalo, a sister, Virginia (Richard) Wadeson of Warwick as well as several nieces & nephews.
