Charles W. "Doc" Ordway

Wellsville, NY - Charles W. "Doc" Ordway formerly of Bolivar passed away on June 21, 2010 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. He was born on March 7, 1924 in Troupsburg and was married to Genevieve Clark who predeceased him in 1991.

Charles was a former resident of Olean and Bolivar. He worked for the former Davin's Junk Yard in Olean, Donferd's Sawmill in Kill Buck and for the former Stardell's Dairy in Friendship. Charles was a hard worker that never missed a day of work. He loved his family and will be remembered for his sense of humor.

Survivors include: 3 sons, Terry (Maxine) Ordway of Bolivar, William Ordway of Bolivar and Chuck (Samantha) Ordway of West Field, PA.; 3 daughters, Cindy Vennard of Wellsville, Virginia Ordway of Bolivar and Julie (Bruce) Foster of Cuba; His 3 adopted children, Larry Ordway of Wellsville, Carol Gorney of Buffalo and Debbie (Charles) Vennard of Ceres. Several Grandchildren including Brandon Charles Ordway, Kala Foster and James Vennard; several great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Lou Boom of Florida and Barbara Poorman of upstate New York; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, June 25, 2010, at 4:30 pm in the Wellsville Manor Care Center Activities Center at 4192 A Bolivar Road in Wellsville. Pastor Dick Helms will preside and memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. On line condolences may be left at www.embserfuneralhome.com.
