Carolyn Murray Feldbauer

Belmont, NY - Carolyn Murray Feldbauer, of Belmont, died on February 8, 2010. She was born Carolyn Mae Murray on March 27, 1939 to James D. Murray and Rhea E. Hilligas Murray. She grew up in Friendship and graduated high school in 1957. Carolyn earned her BA in Music Education at SUNY Fredonia, graduating in 1961. Her Graduate Studies took place at Ithaca College and Alfred University. "Miss Murray," as she is remembered by many of her former students, taught music in Arcade, Pittsford and Angelica before retiring, at which point, she gave private piano lessons for many years, She married James F. Feldbauer on July 25, 1970.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 39 years, James, her mother, Rhea of Belmont, her children, Kathryn "Kate" Handy of Ithaca, James (Nikki) of Jefferson, Michael of Belmont, Mark (Lorie) of Lancaster, Martin "Tiger" of Belmont and Mary Jo McNinch (James Jr.) of Belmont. She is survived, as well, by her grandchildren, Brandon, Casey, Kimberly, Loran, Matthew, Olivia and Grace and one great grandchild, Kache; sister in law, Frances Hurd of Pleasanton, TX, brother in law and sister in law, Bob and Doris Feldbauer of Angelica and Harry "Skip" Feldbauer of Belfast and several nieces and nephews.

We, who loved Carolyn and miss her already, take comfort in the happy life she lived and the peaceful, loving way god took her home. "To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under Heaven." [Ecclesiastes 3:1]. It is, now, our time to mourn but also to rejoice in the life of a woman, well lived and well loved.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday February 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Belmont. A Prayer Service will be offered at 10:30 am in the Funeral Home on Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 am in the Holy Family Catholic Church on Milton Street in Belmont. Memorials made be made to the Amity Rescue Squad or to the Belmont Fire Department. The family is so appreciative of their quick response and wonderful care.
