Onalee (Dotie) Dwyer

Onalee (Dotie) Dwyer, 91 of Wellsville died on Friday, November 27, 2009 at Jones Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born, in Wellsville on November 3, 1918. She was the daughter of Harry B. Sloan and May F. Sherwood.

She was married to Donald Dwyer who predeceased her in 1955. Also she was predeceased by a brother, Woodrow Sloan, in 1973, and a son-in-law, Edwin F. Comstock III, in 2002.

She is survived by four daughters: Kimberly (Larry) Walsh, Elizabeth (Michael) Ludden, Jacqueline (Donald) Comstock, and Luanne (Ann) Comstock.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Kris (Colin) Bailey, Jennifer (Ludden) Baker, Michael (Myra) Ludden, Christopher (Brenda) Comstock, Jonathan Comstock, Patrick Comstock, and Sloane Comstock.

Her nine great-grandchildren include: Christian Colon, Cameron Gordon, Brogan Bailey, Kelleach Bailey, Brocton Ludden, Bryson Ludden, Covey Clancy, Caden Ludden, Lakin Ludden. One great great-granddaughter, Mercedes Ludden.

She owned and operated the Funcrest Skating Rink for thirty years. She also was employed by The Allegany Board of Elections in Belmont, NY. She was a license real estate agent for several years in Wellsville.

She was a strong role model for her family and friends. She was a full-time mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and friend to everyone. As a lifelong resident of Wellsville, she influenced and touched many people throughout the area through the skating rink, her family and her jobs. She will be missed by many people.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at J.W. Embser's Funeral Home Inc, 34 West State St., Wellsville, where services will be held on Monday, November 30 at 11:00 am. Rev. Diane Cox will preside at the service.

Memorial suggestions include the following: David A. Howe Library, 155 N. Main Street, Wellsville, NY 14895 and the Allegany County SPCA.
